Can I buy song backgrounds from Singa?

Are the songs in Singa for sale?

Can I buy Singa's backing tracks?

Singa is mainly a distributor. We don’t own 99% of the audio files we use, but they belong to a significant amount of different karaoke producers or record companies. The ones we have produced ourselves are not on sale for reproduction purposes.

If you are interested in using or buying a certain background, please contact the karaoke producer who produced the version (for example Sunfly).

Can background music be used in film production, for example?

It is important to note that Singa generally does not own the rights to the backing tracks or the musical content of the songs. The rights to karaoke backing tracks typically belong to their producers, record labels, publishers or other rights holders. Therefore, Singa cannot automatically grant permission for the commercial use of the music in films or other audiovisual productions.

Film use usually requires:

  • sync rights

  • master/sound recording rights

  • possible rights to use karaoke video or background images

  • separate approval from rights holders

Singa can help to clarify:

  • who is the rights holder for a given content

  • whether licensing is possible

In order to assess the matter in more detail, we need:

  • production information

  • songs and exact versions to be used

  • purpose

  • distribution area and channels

  • estimated scope of use

Licensing inquiries can be sent to: luca@singa.com
